Product Review and a Giveaway

Several weeks ago, I was contacted by Leslie, director of sales and marketing for the product Lapel Stick. Leslie sent me some of their product, Lapel Stick,asked me to use it and do a review and then giveaway some of their product. This sounded like something that I would enjoy doing. Last Friday, while working on the blocks for the Rag Quilt, I decided to test the product. Instead of using pins before I sewed the top and bottom blocks to the batting, I used the Lapel Stick.
I did like how it easily went on the fabric. The blocks held together. I did not have to use any pins. My sewing machine needle didn't seem to notice there was any glue at all. I liked using this product. My only problem was that I ran out of "stuff" in the Lapel Stick before I was finished the job. I also don't know how much the product costs. Maybe, it would have been no big deal to use several of the Lapel Sticks if they are reasonably priced. Here is the product description from their website, 

Temporary non-toxic acid-free fabric adhesive that goes on in seconds and dries clear for Quilting, Sewing, Crafting, and Embroidery - replaces baste stitching, pinning, tapes, spray adhesives, and stabilizers.  No more messy sprays or getting stuck with pins and it won't gum up your needles or machines!  LAPEL Stick is water soluble and safe to use on cottons, wool, polyester, blends, felt, linen, and leather. 

Now for the fun part. I have two Lapel Sticks to giveaway to two of you. Just leave a comment on this post. Your comment could include what you would like to test using the Lapel Stick or even your favorite Easter candy. Jelly beans are my weakness:)

    I think this would be great to use for wool applique - no pins or fusibles needed (woohoo) :-)

    This time of year I have a major weakness for Starburst Jelly Beans - YUM!!!

    I'd love to try it - with applique. Fave Easter candy? No contest... Robin Eggs. Yummy. Bought a huge bag the other day and daughter and I finished them within a day. Might have to pick up more on Monday when they're on sale... ;)

    I use glue sticks...Elmer's...and I like them, but they don't go onto the fabric very smoothly.

    I'd really like to try the Lapel Sticks.

    Would be very interested in how it would help in 'sandwiching' a large quilt. So far, what's on the market is not satisfactory (I do the pin baste and water soluble thread machine baste now). Favorite candy is M&Ms...plain or peanut, please!-)

    LOVE jelly beans too, but am old school. I love the originals or the spiced variety, not the tart or starburst type. Lapel sticks look great for applique!

    This would be perfect for applique; sometimes it is difficult to hold little pieces in place with a pin and actually sew at the same time. I love jelly beans too! Thanks for a chance to win.

    I was trying a new paper piecing method that uses glue dots...the glue I was using left clumps and was sticky...I'd like to give this a try!
    I love jelly beans too...the orange and yellow are the first to disappear...I use to trade with the kids for those colors. :)

    I would like to try this product for applique. I hope it becomes more readily available. My favorite Easter (Halloween, Valentine!) candy is dark chocolate M&Ms.

    I think I would try this first with a mug rug, or applique. Oh, and my favorite Easter candy are the Reese's peanut butter eggs =D

    My favorite easter candy is the Cadbury mini eggs. Every year I stock up on Peeps though. My son doesn't like many sweets but he loves Peeps.

    Two things I'd like to try it with, first I'd try it for basting a small wall hanging and also for applique. Favorite Easter candy? Cadbury eggs.

    I would like to try this new stick. I would use it to baste a small wall hanging of an Easter chick. It is very tiny but still needs to be held together to quilt. My favorite candy are the Reese's peanut butter eggs. So yummy.

    that would work perfect with the strip quilt I am working on. My favorite Easter candy is anything chocolate from See's, especially if there are nuts in it.

    I'd love to try the lapel stick to hold down binding, my most unfavorite part of quilting!! Hmmmm? And my favorite treat is currently Dove with raspberry swirl.

    I would be interested in trying this. I actually have a project right now where my applique is "sticking" to my block and they are both sticking to my design wall. For 3 months now :)

    Ive actually used Glue Sticks for holding applique fabrics in place when doing embroidery so I'd try it this way. My favorite Easter candy? Black jelly beans and Reese's Peanut Butter eggs, mmmm.

    I wonder how this would work to "baste" ribbon to projects - some glues do a real number on sewing machine needles, lol.
