I love Fall! Here in Georgia we do experience a colorful season change. I love the falling leaves....

One of my most favorite things is to visit the apple orchards and warehouses in the North Georgia Mountains. We didn't have experience apple season growing up in Louisiana. (Crawfish season is something we did embrace)
Reading pumpkin and apple stories to primary students for years and watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." Yahoo for Fall!
I know you're saying enough of the Fall Tribute. Where's the giveaway? I searched my sewing room. I wanted my giveaway to reflect Fall, but also help reduce my stash. I remembered that I still had lots of fabric from making my own Good to Go bag. Lots of luscious Chelsea Lane fabric in fall tones from Pat Sloan. That was it. The past few days I've been in my sewing room putting the new bag together.
This Summer I had the opportunity to use my friend Jane's Studio Cutter from Accuquilt. This made my project easier as most of the fabric was already cut into strips. The Good to Go bag from Silver Thimble Quilt Company is made from string-pieced blocks.

What do I like about fall? Other than the beautiful leaves, all of the restaurants put pumpkin foods on their menus. I wish that they were permanent menu items. Also note that I am a follower now.

Wow what a fantastic and massive prize! My favourite thing about fall here in Malta is that the island slowly turns form a burnt out brown color to green when the fall rain comes and things start growing again! Malta is so beautiful during fall/winter/spring =)

The color change has to be my favorite. I think it would be hard to live somewhere where the leaves dont' change. I love the maples set against the dark evergreens. I also love the scent of pumpkin spice stuff to eat and to smell!

I don't know many men that willingly shuffle their non-driving wife around to fabric store after fabric store, quilt shoppes, lessons, all the while sitting quietly & patiently until it's time to pay, then stepping up with the debit card and a smile. Look at all the comments - this blog hop has brought so many readers!! I am already a follower and I too love Fall. Although now that we are in Texas, Fall really isn't here yet. It still has been in the 80's!! Can you believe it? The nights get down to 50 and then the mornings are also cool - which I love. I am missing my New England Fall the most right now - but I'm trying to stay positive. All those years that I enjoyed it has filled my memories :)

My favorite Fall tradition is getting together with my husband's family and going out to the pumpkin farms and selecting our pumpkins, going back to my FIL's house to carve them (in secret) and then having one of the neighbors come over to judge which one is the best. The winner gets a gift certificate to his/her favorite restaurant! Then we light a fire in the fireplace, eat home made soups and other goodies, play games or cards, watch movies, or just chat. It's a great, fun family evening!
BTW, I'm originally from Louisiana, too - Baton Rouge. Where in LA are you from? And I love LSU football, too - that's my "other" favorite Fall tradition! Geaux Tigers! =^..^=
